Setup is easy. First connect the adapter to your PC. The Belkin uses the USB port of your device (PC or TV) as a power source, just as a USB dongle would, and it actually connects to the device via an Ethernet cable. Launch your web browser and it should automatically go to the local Belkin home screen, if not, the URL is provided in the setup manual. Once you get to the Belkin setup on the page, enter your wireless credentials, and wait for the confirmation page. It also supports WPS. Once you've confirmed it is connected to your Wi-Fi, remove the adapter from the PC and connect it to your TV, again, connecting an Ethernet cable from adapter to port on TV and USB to TV's USB port for power. Your TV must have both ports for it to work because the device does not come with an AC power adapter. I have it connected to a 42" 1080P 120Hz LED LCD. So far, it has been great. Before you buy this universal adapter make sure your HDTV is internet-ready and that you have an available USB and Ethernet Port. In addition, you will need to have a router to connect to your WI-FI. If this is all in place, you are good to go. The set-up is easy - it took me under 10 minutes - and it works seamlessly. The wireless adapter is small and light and can be easily attached to the back of your TV. If you enjoy watching Netflix, Hulu, etc. this is a great device to have. The only time I had a problem with the signal was when I initially connected the box to the TV. It took 3-5 minutes before the light changed from yellow to blue indicating it was connected to the Wi-Fi. I intend to use this on my WiFi ready BluRay player for wireless internet movies/video streaming Quick install guide supplied in the box, but no user manual as in the "what's in the box" at Amazon and on Belkin product web page. No PDF user manual available on the Belkin web site. So with the transmitter and glasses I can now watch 3D TV. Yay I guess.This isn't a review on the quality of the 3D that Sony TVs provide..though it is pretty good. I mean the whole purpose for this transmitter to exist (aside from Sony nickel and diming it's customers) is to send a synch signal to the glasses. And it does that very well. And it works with the new 2011 TDG-BR250 glasses, so that's a plus. Our setup has us sitting about 15 feet from the TV and I was able to get a signal anywhere in the room, so it does it's job well. And it wide transmission angles are well demonstrated as we position the transmitter not in the most ideal location as described below. Read more 13 of 14 people found the following review helpful Working Perfectly So Far, By This review is from: Sony TMR-BR100 3D Sync Transmitter for Sony's 3D Glasses, Black (Electronics) We decided to take the plunge and get a new Sony 3D TV; the TV does not come with the 3D transmitter so we bought the Sony package deal that includes the glasses, the transmitter, and a 3D movie.Setting the transmitter up was a simple matter; it plugs into the back of the TV in a special input designed for it alone with a special shape so there can be no confusion with any other input on the back of the TV. It also comes with two double sided adhesive strips which attach the transmitter to any surface; one will do the job so you have a spare. One important thing is to make sure the transmitting part of the device is facing the viewing area; it can be put in backwards which will seriously compromise the signal transmission to the 3D glasses. We have used our TV and the 3D feature for over a month now and it has always worked perfectly. We have absolutely no complaints about its performance! |

When I got the product home, I hooked it up to my cable box upstairs and to my flat screen television in the basement. The box says there is a transmission range of 150 ft. but that must be direct line of sight because the transmitter could not sync with the receiver in the basement. I would say the maximum distance between the two is about 35-40 feet. So,to see if the unit was working, I brought the transmitter downstairs within direct line of sight of the receiver and attached it to a cable box. That seemed to solve the syncing problem and I was able to obtain a good HD picture on my remote flat screen tv.However, I could not get any sound. I called technical support and was told to download a firmware update and to get an updated cable box. When I attempted to download the firmware upgrade onto the transmitter and receiver, nothing happened... I had called Actiontec prior to the purchase to ask about the compatibility with a DishNet VIP 622 DVR receiver and it was not on their approved or checked list as of yet. The DishNet receivers that they said it did work with were the 222K, 722K and the 922 Duo. Took a gamble that if had worked on those it had the potential to work on mine plus my next receiver will be either the 722K or 922.Well it turns out it does work with the DishNet VIP622 DVR. I did not have to do the firmware update to make this happen however prior to installation I once again called tech support to ask about it. They said if I didn't have a picture when installed I would definitely have to do the upgrade but if the picture was good then don't worry about it.
