My wife has experienced severe hearing loss and wears hearing aids, however with the Sennheiser set830 TV listening system she can hear everything on TV very distinctly, without wearing hearing aids. The ear phones are very comfortable, much better than the old large muff set she used to have. The only problem she has experienced is that the volume on the TV must be turned up to a medium level to insure a constant audio signal. This does not present a problem since anyone listening with her is not being blasted out of the room. Most of the time she can play the TV at a lower level anyway. The volume control has a large range and is very effective in providing enough sound for her to hear every word spoken. The extra controls are easily adjusted to maximize clarity for soft spoken voice and adjusting the treble. So far this set has been outstanding. Anyone needing a boost with their TV... It is too " bright and brassy" and there is no way to reduce the treble emphasis. However, the really big problem I had with it was the " buzz and beep" noises it made when locating the transmitter anywhere near my Plasma Tv Set. Sennheiser has made electronices for years and the quality is definitely better than the cheaper sets. My only complaint is the foam and rubber earpieces come off. Now they don't wear out easy but they separate from the headset and if you lose them in the furniture or you have pets that can be a problem. The other issue is although you can buy replacement batteries at Amazon I don't see anyone selling the earpieces. I still like the set and Sennheiser backs it. I had a problem with the first set and they immediately sent me another. I just hope they start selling the earpieces here. CA Luster |
