If you don't need the four tuners in the Ceton InfiniTV, or the three tuners in the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime, this two-tuner box from Hauppauge is worth the look. As for me, I already had a card for ClearQAM, so I didn't really need more than two tuners. HD quality on my HTPC is equal to the quality from the cable company DVR (which is going back tomorrow!). First things first - don't even mess with the CD in the box, download the latest software and firmware directly from Hauppauge. The firmware has been updated at least twice in the last two weeks, and will probably be updated quite frequently as more features are added. It took me 1 hour to drive to RCN location to pickup CableCard and I spent 1+ hour to install and activate CableCard. It has one less tuner (2 instead of 3) and lacks the network sharing feature of the HD Homerun. Basically, you plug it into the wall, and connect it to your computer (via USB). Then plug a coax in for your cable line. You have to have an M-Card from your cable company. I have Comcast in South Jersey and I was able to go to my local Comcast office and pick up a cablecard free of charge.Once you plug everything in, you go into Media Center and run through the setup. At one point during the setup, you'll get a screen with three numbers that you have to give to Comcast to activate the card. There's a self-install line that you should call instead of the general number. It's mentioned in another review on here, so search the reviews for Comcast and you should find it. My thoughts and opinion on this device are strictly my own based on my needs and use of the device and are non biased.Now that that is out of the way I will say this is a great little feature packed device. It is packaged in a small form factor roughly 4X4 or 5X5 inches in size, has a HDMI connection as well as a port for Ethernet hookup. It's setup is rather fast and effortless, once you turn the device on for the first time you go through a series of screens to help you get the best streaming capabilities out of the device. One thing I like is that no matter what resolution your TV has, this device can output in any of them. I found that AUTO resolution worked best and this is great if you are unsure of the resolution of your TV as it will set it automatically for you. However I bought this unit primarily to stream from Netflix and I have not been able to resolve the problems with movie playback. I can select Netflix from the Home page and it loads normally. I can search for movies and vue the que as well. When I select a title to play however, I get a pixilated green screen, audio appears normal. I called Netgear who told me this was a Netflix problem. They had me change the hdmi cord and restart the cable modem and router to no avail. They told me the problem was with Netgear not them and recommended I call Roku who may actually make the box. Roku went through some of the same steps but was unfamiliar with the product and sent me back to Netgear. Netgear again told me it was a Netflix... To be brief, with this antenna I now receive signal strengths between 64-74% on a couple stations 38 miles away that I didn't get before! I did a test of signal strengths among six different stations; first with rabbit ears and then with the amplified signal of this new RCA ANT1650. The rabbit ears averaged a signal strength of 51.66% (with a low of 32% and a high of 74%). The ANT1650 received an average signal strength of 90.16% (with a low - among the tested stations - of 67% and a high of 100%)!This product was also very easy to set up. I connected the antenna to the detachable amplifier with a coaxial cable and then connected the amplifier to the TV with another coaxial cable. I use this for a TV on the upper floor of my 2 story house, and ordered a 2nd for my main level TV. Hooked it up and it works fine as well.I use these as a backup to my satellite dish. The satellite went out during a bad thunderstorm last night but I was able to switch over to broadcast tv and continue watching the game.
